Beefy’s Charity Golf Series

Desert Springs had been selected to host the Grand Final of the ‘Sir Ian Botham Charity Golf Classic Series’ from the Thursday 30th October to Saturday 1st November 2008, as announced previously. All Desert Springs home owners and members should have received a letter, with an event application form, from Sir Ian.

The aim is to raise funds for Leukaemia Research, so festivities commence on Thursday evening with a Welcome Drinks Reception with BBQ at the Crocodile Club, followed by announcement of the competitor’s draw sheet and a ‘Casino Evening’. All monies raised at the casino tables will be donated directly to Leukaemia Research and prizes will be awarded to the three leading chip holders at the end of the evening!

On Friday evening, El Torrente restaurant will be the venue for the Celebrity Gala Dinner including entertainment. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid for some very special and unique items at the “What Money Can’t Buy!” Auction.

Owners and members not competing in the event are cordially invited to take the opportunity to attend either or both the Casino Evening and the Celebrity Gala Dinner Evening. Tickets are available to these charity events at 75€ and 125€ a ticket respectively, on a first come first served basis; they can be purchased at or by contacting the Clubhouse Golf Reception.

There has been a positive response already from those wishing to participate in the golf event itself and bearing in mind the overwhelming demand for the social functions at last years event, we would urge all wishing to have some real fun and enjoy the social functions this year to purchase their tickets now before they are sold out!
