The Club has been asked to issue the following statement made by Philip Lockyer, a member of the Competitions Committee acting on its behalf, explaining the recent decision of that committee concerning categories of entrants for future competitions at Desert Springs.
“Dear Member / Property Owner,
Following on from feedback from the membership, the Competitions Committee is delighted to announce that in future competitions will be divided into handicap categories based upon the number of entries in each division.
There will be a maximum of three divisions in each competition with a prize or prizes for each category.
The Competitions Committee believes this to be a very positive move allowing members to compete without feeling that competitions are biased towards high or low handicappers. We look forward to some really enjoyable, competitive golf over the coming months.
