NEW YORKSHIRE ESTATE AGENT BUILDS ITS PORTFOLIO WITH NEW HOMES IN SOUTH-EAST SPAIN

A Yorkshire property consultancy has just added properties in south-east Spain to those it is selling through a new network of associates across the north of England.

Tom Frank, who set up his own business, Ice Cubed, in April this year and has just relocated to new offices in York Business Park, has linked up with The Almanzora Group* to sell the new residential properties it is marketing in leisure resort, village and beach developments – including the Desert Springs luxury family resort and desert golf course in the Cuevas del Almanzora region of Almeria in Spain.

Tom is enthusiastic about Desert Springs, having worked in Spain for several years and spent two holidays in the resort.

Desert Springs occupies more than 300 hectares (750 acres) on an elevated plateau over the Rio Almanzora, near the coast of the municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora.

This unique resort, which opened in 2001, is the winner of the Best Almeria, Best Spain and Best Architecture Bentley International Homes Awards. Already it includes the Indiana Desert Golf Course and Club House, with its El Torrente Restaurant – also an international award winner – the Crocodile Club resort centre with its atmospheric family restaurant and bar, natural rock set swimming pools, sun lawns and sand play bunkers. Also open is the Sierra Sports and Fitness Club which has tennis, paddle tennis and beach volleyball courts, as well as a five-a-side football and basketball ‘kick around area,’ a gymnasium, and an international-size football pitch. 

Future plans for the resort include a second 18-hole golf course, a four-star golf and sports hotel, a super luxury five-star plus ‘well being’ and spa hotel. More homes ranging from apartments, townhouses and cottages to villas and large country houses will be built to the highest standards of construction and finish.

Ice Cubed also will be selling properties in nearby Villaricos and Playa Marques.

Villaricos is a traditional fishing village located between the Almanzora River, the Sierra Almagrera and the sea.  The village has an existing population of around 400 people and is being redeveloped sympathetically by The Almanzora Bay Group in conjunction with the local town hall. 

More than 200 apartments and townhouses already have been built at Villaricos by The Almanzora Bay Group.  Now further new homes consisting of two- and three-bedroom apartments and townhouses are being constructed around a series of individual courtyards, gardens and pools.

All of them are designed in the distinctive complementary style developed for the village. They have been planned as part of an overall scheme to create a unique residential tourism resort on the coast, based around the existing village and its two tiny harbours.

Five minutes from Villaricos is ‘El Playazo’ – the Great Sandy Beach of Palomares – where the Almanzora Bay Group’s Playa Marques beach-front development of 200 marine-style two- and three-bedroom beach cottages, apartments and exclusive three-bedroom ‘Malibu’ beach houses are under construction.
