Denmark National team complete successful training camp at Desert Springs Resort

Fourteen (14) members of the Denmark Men’s National Cricket Team accompanied by three (3) coaching staff are now back in Denmark having completed a successful three (3) day training camp between Sunday 12th – Wednesday 15th September at Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course with its very own ICC accredited Cricket Ground, in the Almanzora region of Almeria, Andalucía in south-east Spain.

Keith Dabengwa/ Denmark National Team Head Coach, remarked of Desert Springs Resort and the training camp;

“Great cricket facilities and superb hospitality. The food was really good and always on time for the players. The apartments were excellent and well maintained. Thank you, Desert Springs.”

The focus of the training camp was to provide an opportunity for the players to both work seriously on their batting, bowling & fielding skills as well as their fitness levels, to ensure that the players are in the best possible shape leading up to their preparation for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 Europe World Cup Qualifiers to be held at Desert Springs Resort in October.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting took place at the Cricket Academy. Out-field practice, match simulations, throw downs, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground.

Ole Roland, Team Manager of the Denmark National Team commented of their training camp at Desert Springs Resort:

“Although only a short visit, the Camp was most beneficial to the squad. Nick was always around to help us and make sure our logistical requirements were met. Due to some rain on day one we needed flexibility, and this was provided. The opportunity to talk about and plan future events was also welcome, and we enjoyed our short stay at Desert Springs.”

Denmark player Omar Hayat commented;

“The facilities at Desert Springs have been excellent with wonderful surroundings. It is a really well-maintained cricket ground with a good pitch and outfield. The staff have been very kind and looked after us. We are looking forward to coming here again, but for longer next time.”

Denmark player Amjad Khan commented;

“Very amazing facilities and in beautiful surroundings. For the purpose of our preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers the resort has been absolutely perfect. We have been well looked after and look forward to returning again.”

The players and coaches were accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments and Townhouse at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef was on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente Restaurant.
