Desert Springs Ryder Cup

The 2007 marketing of the Desert Springs Resort and Golf Club included presentations to a number of selected Golf Clubs in Madrid, Spain. Part of this particular promotional initiative was to develop close relations with these Golf Clubs with the intention of encouraging their members to visit Desert Springs for short golfing breaks.

With this intention, Desert Springs has developed agreements with; Real Sociedad de Hípica Española Club de Campo, Club Jarama R.A.C.E., Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, La Moraleja y Club de Golf La Dehesa and La Herrería.

Many of these Clubs’ members have since visited on golfing breaks and experienced the Indiana course and facilities which we offer, all of which has assisted greatly in the awareness and reputation of Desert Springs Golf Club within the Spanish national market.

Desert Springs has now invited these Clubs’ to enter a team of 12 players to represent their respective Clubs’ and compete against a team from Desert Springs in the Inaugural Desert Springs V’s. Madrid Golf Clubs Ryder Cup, scheduled for Sunday 3rd August 2008.

Teams will compete in a Pairs Better Ball Stableford tournament, with the teams 6 best scores recorded on each hole being combined to count towards the team total for 18 holes.

The competition is open to male and female golfers, with a current handicap, who wish to represent their respective golf clubs in this team event.

The entry fee for the event to Desert Springs Members is 48.50€ per person, which includes attendance at the ‘Welcome Cocktail Evening’ for all the teams at the Starter’s Cave on Saturday 2nd August and on Sunday 3rd August, complimentary use of practice balls at the Academy of Golf prior to play, 18 holes of Tournament Golf on the Indiana course, the complimentary use of Golf Buggy’s and attendance to the Gala Dinner and Trophy Presentation at ‘El Torrente’ Restaurant.
