 “Fabulous staff!”

 

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Desert Springs Golf Resort at the beginning of September.

Despite the fact that we did find some rain in the driest place in Spain we had a fabulous time and played some great golf.

The food in the clubhouse was both excellent and very reasonably priced and the accommodation very comfortable.

However, what really stood out were the amazing staff who welcome you and make sure your trip is very special.

We would particularly like to mention the Golf Resort Manager Kirk who gave us exceptional service – we will be recommending Desert Springs to all our friends!

“Wonderful Resort”

We rented a villa on Desert Drive and had a great time, the golf course is great but difficult, the practice area is fantastic – great bunker and green. 

The restaurant staff are very nice and helpful. 

We played table tennis there many times. 

A wonderful place to visit even if your not a golfer.

"This place is such a nice experience, from the drive up to Desert Springs to the fantastic location and set up of the restaurant. 

The staff are great, really friendly, the house wine is fantastic and the food is a step above everything else that is served in the area. 

It is also fantastic value at 18 euros for 3 courses and coffee. 


Overall it is a real top restaurant experience which costs less than £15 per head, 3 courses, wine and coffee. 

I have visited this place 5 or 6 times, most recently the Chateaubriand was melt in the mouth, pork shank was also a great dish I had from this menu. 

If you are in the area I would definitely advise visiting this place."

“Fantastic food and good service”

Visited on a Tuesday at approx 1pm as the Crocodile Club was not serving food. Family of 6 including 2 children. Really happy with the quality of the food and the portion sizes. After having eaten out numerous times around Bedar, coastal areas etc this was our favourite and worth the drive. All enjoyed and would recommend.

“Another great holiday….”

We have visited twice before (family of 4) and stayed in Townhouses with a shared pool. 

This year we travelled with extended family (8) and stayed in a 4 bed villa with its own pool. 

It was just perfect. 

A luxury villa, fantastic private garden and pool and a very exclusive resort. 

The golf facilities are excellent and there are 2 great restaurants to eat out. 

All of the staff are very friendly, able to speak English and are very quick to sort out any issues we had.

“Very Nice Resort”

Just got back from a long weekend at Desert Springs (the second time I've been); it's a very nice resort.

The villa was spacious & clean, garden was well kept & the pool was a good size with great views of the golf course.

The course itself was very well tended with an interesting layout and challenging holes. I can't say I hit many balls off the fairway but from my many miles of zigzagging across them I'd say they'd be perfect for golf. The rocky/desert bits around the holes are authentic & the cacti are incredibly sharp.

I enjoyed the clubhouse for drinks in the evening.

UD Almeria ‘B’ Team – Twenty-two (22) squad members accompanied by six (6) coaches and staff during their 3 day Pre-Season Training Camp at Desert Springs Football Academy


With a 3rd place finish in the Segunda División ‘B’ last season, Union Deportiva Almeria (Almeria Football Club) ‘B’ squad returned to Desert Springs Resort in the Almanzora region of south-east Spain, for their annual pre-season training camp between Thursday 30th July- Saturday 1st August.

A squad of twenty-two (22) players and six (6) officials from Almería Football Club spent three days at the resort for their training camp, during which the players benefited from training on the Football Academies world-class international-size grass pitch.

Speaking of the team’s experience at Desert Springs, Almeria Football Club Head Coach, Miguel Rivera Mendez remarked:

“We have returned because of the friendliness of the staff and their service, the comfort of the apartments and facilities, and of course, the magnificent conditions of the football pitch and quality of food!”

 

UD Almeria Goal Keeper Training at Desert Springs Football Academy

 

Commenting on the quality of the football pitch, UD Almeria Goalkeeping coach, Ricardo Molina Miras remarked;

“The joy of a great save on the grass of Desert Springs! Thank you for everything”

The staff and players also made use of the Sierra Sports Club and the gym. Eduardo Frapolli, Strength and Conditioning Coach commented:

“Ideal facilities to recharge the batteries for the season. It’s been an absolute pleasure! Thank you very much”

Speaking of the conditions of the football pitch at Desert Springs, Yeray Gómez, who played last season with the first team, visiting some of the best football stadiums in Spain, commented:

 

“You don’t find this quality of grass in most of the football pitches in La Liga!”

The staff we're very friendly and helpful and the resort itself was beautiful, especially the golf course!!

“INTERESTING COURSE”

5 STARS!


The golf course is magnificent, authentic fairways and greens like carpets, very friendly staff and very good service: impecable changing rooms and showers, with food and beverage service during the round …
They have created a course that resembles the desert courses in Arizona and California in America but with the advantage that you do not have to cross the Atlantic to play it.
Important to stay on the fairways that are rather narrow, if you leave them then you enter areas of cactus, succulents and other similar plants that complicate considerably the next shot.
Certainly the best golf in the area and also the most expensive.

“Amazing luxurious villa”

We stayed in 24 desert drive. 

The villa was fantastic, everything you could need for a great holiday, we all enjoyed the lovely pool which is a good size for 3 kids to play and nice and warm for adults! (pool man came quite a few times too during our stay) with great view of golf course, inside the villa is clean, modern and well equipped, comfy beds and British tv (we could watch Wimbledon) with a/c in all rooms which we used as it was incredibly hot in July. 

Can't comment too much on the resort as we spent most of the time in the pool but all the landscaping is very appealing, very desert like, lots of cactus,etc.

We ate on the deck with kids at the resort restaurant and had a snack up at the communal pool, both of which were good and staff friendly.

You definitely need a car to get to shops or the beach. 

Overall a relaxing quiet holiday, would definitely go back !

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you for donating the villa and the golf amenities to Nashy's charity event.

I was the lucky 'winner' and went with 3 pals 2 weeks ago not really knowing what to expect.

The villa was fabulous, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and the golf course was a great test and in outstanding condition.

I would definitely recommend it to everyone (and have already done so) and we would definitely return.

Just wanted to thank you and the team for another perfect stay at Desert Springs.

As usual arrangements were perfect on arrival and during our stay at La Rosa.

June is such a lovely time to come, and we have to say Desert Springs looked as good as ever, particularly the fairways and greens this year.

So relaxing we loved every minute.

Our only decision is not if but when we come again, hopefully we can fit in another visit later this year, but we will be back for our regular visit next June for sure.

“Quality accommodation ”

Six of us stayed here in June. 

Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. 

Fantastic pool area and very relaxing. 

The villa was well kitted out with plenty of utensils etc. a car is definitely needed, we visited mojacar a lovely village around 30 mins away.
