Golf Tournament Calendar

Autumn 2021

Dear Member / Property Owner,

I hope you are all well and safe in these most difficult times and our thoughts are with those people who have lost loved ones, and indeed we have lost members of Desert Springs. All will be sadly missed.

Hopefully with the ever-increasing vaccination programme we can all look to a safer world and be able to enjoy ourselves again at Desert Springs Resort.

With that in mind, I thought I should run you through what the arrangements are for the Autumn. Despite the postponements my theme for my ‘Drive-In’ has always been the NHS. Both Jan and I worked for the NHS for many years, and if we never realised what a wonderful institution it was, I am sure after recent times we all know now how much we owe it and need it. Consequently the fancy dress theme is the NHS! Anything to do with it will be great. The fancy dress will be worn at the ‘Drive-In’, playing golf if you want, and certainly at the evening get together.

The charity I am raising money for is ASPRODALBA, a charity initially set up by one man, to look after the mentally handicapped in the area. Where we are so lucky to have the NHS and other health and social care in our countries, these unfortunate families do not have the same support, so please dig deep into your pockets!

The calendar for Autumn 2021 is therefore as follows: –

  • DESERT CLASSIC – SEPTEMBER 25TH & 26TH

Followed by a BBQ on Sunday evening and watching the last day of the Ryder Cup on a large screen in El Torrente Restaurant.

  • THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP & STABLEFORD – OCTOBER 2ND & 3RD

Followed by a Gala Dinner, presentations and music, (depending on numbers) at El Torrente Restaurant.

  • THE CAPTAIN’S DRIVE IN & CHARITY DAY, NHS Theme – OCTOBER 9TH

Preceded by bacon rolls and drinks at the Cave Bar, and afterwards an International buffet with prizes and music, (depending on numbers) at El Torrente Restaurant.

  • THE CLUB HANDICAP SALVER – OCTOBER 16TH & 17TH
  • THE INDIANA MASTERS OCTOBER – 22ND & 23RD

Followed on Saturday evening by a ‘Paella and Tapas’ Buffet and Quiz, Teams of 4 only, at El Torrente Restaurant

I know it is a hectic schedule but we all deserve to have a break and enjoy ourselves as much as possible, and the young people of ASPRODALBA deserve as much help as possible.

So, start making arrangements and both Jan and I hope to see you all in the Autumn.

Best Wishes,

Phil Webster
