Becky Brewerton

Desert Springs tournament professional Becky Brewerton finished in third place at the Northern Ireland Ladies Open that was played in Belfast last week. The result puts her in 8th position on the Ladies European money list and keeps her in touch for Solheim Cup selection.

The result was Becky’s second top ten finish this season. After getting off to a good start with a fourth place in the Tenerife Open she suffered a set-back when she was forced to withdraw from the next tournament after being struck down by food poisoning.

‘I am striking the ball well and putting well, I just seem to have a costly double bogey or make a bad decision every now and then, on the whole I am happy with my game and feel that I am settling into a good rhythm. The next few weeks are crucial to me, I am trying not to think about the Solheim Cup, but let’s face it, there isn’t a player out here who wouldn’t give everything to be in the team.’

This week the tour moves to Holland for the KLM Open, followed by the Catalonian Ladies Masters to be held in Barcelona where both Becky and Trish Johnson will be competing.
