The Competition Committee have received requests from a number of Members for them to have more opportunities to play in handicap qualifying tournaments.
The Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) recently introduced a new rule whereby a player federated with the RFEG is required to hand in a minimum of 4 qualifying cards to maintain an active handicap.
In the Committee meeting on 8th January, the Club’s officers and officials agreed to introduce a weekly ‘Thursday Roll-Up’.Competitors will have the option to register their entry into the ‘Roll-Up’ as a handicap qualifying card for handicap adjustment with the RFEG.
Entrants: – The ‘Roll-Up’ is open to all players.
Format: – Individual Stableford with the exception of the first Thursday of each month, whereby the format will be Medalplay.
Entrance Fee: – 3€ per player. Visitors must also pay the applicable Green Fee. Payment prior to commencement of play is cumpulsory for those wishing to participate within the ‘Roll-Up’.
Tee-times: – Three (3) Tee times; 12.32 hrs, 12.40 hrs & 12.48 hrs have been pre-reserved for the ‘Roll-Up’. If there are more than twelve (12) entrants then more Tee times will be reserved. The reception will draw the groupings and display the tee-times at reception on Wednesday before 12:00.
To assist with the control of required Tee times for the ‘Roll-Up’, players that wish to play must visit the golf reception in the Club House and register their name in the ‘Roll-Up’ book before Tuesday at 12.00hrs.
Prize: – The collected entrance fees will be divided (cash) in the following manner: 1st Place – 50%, 2nd Place – 30% & 3rd Place – 20%
Qualifying Card: – Players that wish to register a handicap qualifying card must confirm this prior to play by signing into the book held at the golf reception. The handicap qualifying card must be marked by a player that is also making a handicap qualifying card. In accordance with the Rules of of the RFEG, a minimum of six (6) participants are required to make the tournament a qualifying tournament.
Regulations: – RFEG Rules for qualifying competitions apply. Players with a CONGU Handicap must use the handicap conversion which is recommended by the RFEG.
