Danish Cricket Federeration Men’s National Team Set To Visit Desert Springs for Training Camp

 

The Men’s National Cricket Team of Denmark will be stepping up their preparations for ICC Europe sub-regional T20 World Cup qualifying finals to be held at Desert Springs in October, by completing a three (3) day training camp at the Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Sunday 12th – Wednesday 15th September.

Between Wednesday 13th– Friday 22nd October, 2021, over nine intense days, four top European nations; Jersey, Germany, Denmark and Italy will compete to see which two will qualify for the World Cup T20 qualifiers scheduled for early 2022. From that final round of qualifiers, the top four teams will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup finals in Australia in October 2022.

The Denmark National Cricket Team has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1966, and have previously been a part of the ICC’s High Performance Programme.

The training camp will comprise fourteen (14) players and three (3) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work along with match play situation practice will be completed at the Cricket Ground.

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments and Townhouses at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente restaurant.
