Germany to compete against Spain in T20 Matches at Desert Springs

GERMANY V’S SPAIN T20 MATCHES

AT DESERT SPRINGS CRICKET GROUND

The National Men’s cricket teams from Germany and Spain are using Desert Springs Resort as a base to prepare for forthcoming events. As part of their preparation they will play three T20 fixtures on the ICC accredited match ground at Desert Springs Resort on the Friday 10th and Saturday 11th September. Both teams will also be taking full advantage of being able to train on the first-class grass wicket training surfaces at the Desert Springs Cricket Academy prior to their matches.

Germany continues to rise up the ICC World rankings and with over 4,000 active cricketer’s and a new National Stadium, they are a fast-emerging cricket nation. In October they will be returning to Desert Springs Resort once again for the ICC Men’s T20 Europe World Cup qualifiers and the training programme they have in place for this week will ensure that they are in a good place to take on Jersey, Denmark and Italy.

Cricket Spain meanwhile have the challenge of the inaugural European T10 Cricket Championships during September and October. Fifteen (15) national teams from around Europe, including an English Amateur XI, will take part and Cricket Spain travel to Malaga for this event after completion of their matches at Desert Springs Resort.

In accordance with ICC ODI ranking match regulations, spectators are welcome, and admission is completely FREE, however spectators will not be permitted within the cricket pavilion nor the designated immediate surrounding areas to reflect the provision of the (PMOA) Players and Match Officials Area.

The match schedule is as follows: –

  • Match 1 – Friday 10th September 11:00hrs.
  • Match 2 – Saturday 11th September at 10:00hrs
  • Match 3 – Saturday 11th September at 14:00hrs.

It is not the first time that these two nations have competed at Desert Springs Resort. In March 2020 we saw two fantastic games played, resulting in one victory to each side.

We are looking forward to some more intense battles between these two teams and some great entertainment on our superb cricket ground for you to enjoy.
