SEPTEMBER COURSE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME

Fungicide Spraying

The preventative fungicide spraying program of all grass areas will continue on an as-needed basis. This safeguard helps protect the course against strong summer turf grass diseases. Signs will be placed on Tee 1 and Tee 9 to remind all players that spraying is in progress. The reception staff will also advise players before play when spraying is in progress. Please remember to wash your hands after play.

Annual Golf Course Overseeding and Sand Topdressing Program

The overseeding and sand topdressing program will commence on Tuesday 10th September on all rye grass areas of the golf course to help improve turf quality and density after the summer months. During this time a local rule of “preferred lies” will be introduced. The reception staff will be updated with the golf course conditions on a daily basis.

Bermuda grass Encroachment

During the summer months warm season grasses flourish and encroach into the playing surfaces of the golf course. The second and third applications of a non-selective herbicide will be used to treat Men’s tees 11 and Ladies tees 7. In additional Men’s tee 6 and green’s approach 4 will also be sprayed. The small areas sprayed will turn white and have a dry appearance. The affected areas will be turfed in September.

2013 and 2014 Greens Hollow Coring Dates

In the knowledge that all Property Owners and Members need to have as much notice as possible concerning particular aspects of the golf course maintenance schedule that may temporarily effect the playing conditions of the greens surface, thus enabling them to plan particular holidays accordingly, please see below the remaining hollow coring date for 2013 and the new hollow coring dates for 2014.
