Cambridge University CC Set To Visit Desert Springs for Pre-Season Training Camp

We are delighted to announce that Cambridge University Cricket Club (CUCC) will be returning to Desert Springs Resort for the second year between Saturday 19th –  Wednesday 23rd March to complete a 4-day training camp to prepare their twenty-six (26) man squad at the ICC accredited Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy for some forthcoming First-Class fixtures.

CUCC has a history dating back to 1820, and Fenner’s cricket ground, the home of the Club since 1848, is justly famous. CUCC has produced many great cricketers over the years, including 21 test captains, 62 other test players and noted senior administrators. The captains extend from Ivo Bligh, who regained the Ashes in Australia in 1882/3, to Mike Atherton who captained England for five years from 1993.

The players will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Out-field practice, match simulations, throw downs, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will take place at the Cricket Ground.
