Title: Bear Cricket complete Winter Tour Camp at Desert Springs Resort

Nineteen (19) members of the Bear Cricket Winter Tour, accompanied by Tour Organiser and Head Coach Adam Brown, assisted by Coaches; Tom Craddock and Matthew West, with Ben L’anson and Sam Gatenby responsible for live streaming of matches are now back in England having completed a successful 4-day training camp between Monday 8th – Friday 12th November at Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort with its very own dedicated ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy, in the Almanzora region of Almeria, Andalucía in south-east Spain.

 

Bear Cricket players said of their winter tour camp experience at Desert Springs Resort:

“My first trip to Desert Springs has been great fun and successful overall. The staff are all friendly across all departments and very helpful. The accommodation is well looked after, clean and spacious. The cricket facilities are great and perfect for some off-season training. The match ground is especially well looked after.”

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting took place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club, and two competitive matches took place at the Cricket Ground on Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th November.

The players and coaches were accommodated in some of the privately-owned apartments and villas reserved for holidays and short breaks at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef was on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in El Torrente Restaurant.

Title: Bear Cricket set to visit Desert Springs for warm weather cricket training camp

Bear Cricket will be following in the auspicious footsteps of Ireland’s U19 Men’s National Cricket Team by by completing a four (4) day warm weather training camp with matches at the ICC accredited Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Monday 8th – Friday 12th November.

Bear Cricket Managing Director, Adam Brown has planned a series of visits to Desert Springs with the vision of allowing talented young cricketers the opportunity to experience first-class facilities in a professional environment.

The Bear Cricket training camp will comprise twenty-nine (29) talented players and five (5) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club, and competitive matches shall take place at the Cricket Ground on Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th November. Twenty (20) members of Bear Cricket comprised of a ‘Development and Invitation Squad’, accompanied by Head Coach Adam Brown, assisted by Coaches; Andrew Duckworth, Robert Taylor and Dave Weston, are now back in England having completed a successful 4-day training camp between Wednesday 19th – Sunday 23rd February at Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course with its very own dedicated Cricket Ground and Academy, in the Almanzora region of Almeria, Andalucía in south-east Spain.

Dave Weston / ECB Level 3 Coach commented;

“Desert Springs has excellent cricket facilities to work on any aspect of your game. The climate is perfect, the grass net pitches are superb, and the match ground pitch is good with even bounce and some pace. I would highly recommend the complex to anyone serious about improving their cricket.”

With the domestic cricket season drawing ever closer, Bear Cricket will be following in the auspicious footsteps of Denmark’s National Cricket Team by stepping up their preparations for the 2020 campaign by completing a four (4) day warm weather pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Wednesday 19th – Sunday 23rd February.

Bear Cricket Managing Director, Adam Brown has planned a series of visits to Desert Springs this spring with the vision of allowing talented young cricketers the opportunity to experience first-class facilities in a professional environment before their season starts in the UK.

The Bear Cricket training camp will comprise eighteen (18) talented players aged under-18 and four (4) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club, and two competitive matches shall take place at the Cricket Ground on Thursday 20th & Saturday 22nd February.
