Title: Worcestershire, Hampshire and Derbyshire all Choose Desert Springs Resort

Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Hampshire County Cricket Club and Derbyshire County Cricket Club will all be stepping up their preparations for the 2024 season by completing their respective warm weather pre-season training camps at Desert Springs Cricket Ground and Academy in March 2024.

 

Based at New Road in Worcestershire, Worcestershire CCC will be the first, of three, County Cricket Clubs to visit Desert Springs Resort to prepare for the 2024 season between Monday 4th March and Thursday 14th March 2024.  The Worcestershire CCC training camp will comprise eleven (11) players and four (4) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Hampshire CCC visit Desert Springs Resort to prepare for the 2024 with the bowling groups arriving in advance of the batters.  Six (6) bowlers and two (2) coaches arrive to Desert Springs Resort on Thursday 7th March, being joined on 10th March by a further Six (6) bowlers and two (2) coaches.  The Hampshire CCC training camp concludes for both groups on Friday 15th March.

Finaly Derbyshire CCC return to Desert Springs for the third year running and in the footsteps of their academy players whom have already visited in 2024.  Twenty six (26) players and staff will be at Desert Springs Resort to prepare for the 2024 season between Tuesday 12th and Sunday 17th March 2024.

For all the counties grass net practice will take place at the Cricket Academy. Fielding sessions, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

 

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments and townhouses at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in both El Torrente and the Crocodile Club Restaurant

Title: Hampshire CCC complete pre-season training camp

Hampshire County Cricket Club will be stepping up their preparations for the 2023 season by completing a nine (9) day warm weather pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground and Academy between Tuesday 7th – Wednesday 15th March 2023.

Based at Ageas Bowl in Hampshire, Hampshire CCC will be joined at Desert Springs Resort by Derbyshire CCC as both counties prepare for the 2023 season.  The Hampshire CCC training camp will comprise fifteen (15) players and five (5) coaches and staff, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

In order to fully prepare for the season ahead, on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th March  Hampshire CCC and Derbyshire CCC will play against each other in a two day friendly on the Desert Springs match, play will commence at 10:30am, and spectators are more than welcome to take in the action.

Grass net practice will take place at the Cricket Academy. Match simulations, strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

Hampshire CCC are now back in the UK having completed an eight (8) day pre-season training camp at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Thursday 10th – Friday 18th March.

A bowling group made up of nine players and three coaches arrived on Thursday 10th March, before the remaining ten players and three coaches joined them on Sunday 13th March.

As part of their preparation, the team spent their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting took place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

 

Graeme Welch, Hampshire CCC Bowling Lead Coach remarked;

“We had some good training. We’ve got a lot out of the trip, there’s a lot of new people in the group and the lads have spent a lot of time together and bonded together.

The season starts on April 7th and it has been good preparation.

The surfaces were very good.”

Hampshire County Cricket Club will be stepping up their preparations for the 2022 campaign with an eight (8) day warm weather pre-season training camp at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Thursday 10th – Friday 18th March.

The Hampshire CCC training camp will comprise nineteen (19) players and six (6) coaches, a bowling group made up of nine players and three coaches will arrive first, on Thursday 10th March, before the remaining ten players and three coaches join them on Sunday 13th March.

Alongside the training, the team will contest a two-day friendly match with Leicestershire CCC, starting on Wednesday 16th March, ahead of their return to the UK on Friday 18th March.
