	Title:	Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood complete post season tour.

Merchant Taylor’s School, Northwood are now back in the UK having completed a five (5) day end of season tour comprising sixteen (16) players and three (3) teaching staff at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy.

The team spent their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions covering technical skills, bowling and batting, and both individual and group activity. Grass net practice, took place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.  The tour culminated with matches multiple T20, 40 Over and 30 Over on the ICC Accredited Match Ground here at Desert Springs Resort.

 

Ian McGowen, Director of Cricket at Merchant Taylors’ School remarked;

“The cricket facilities are second to none, the pitches are very good quality and the outfield is beautiful, giving the boys a platform to perform.  An experience the boys will look back on for years to come.”

The players and coaches were accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef catered for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in the Crocodile Club Restaurant.

	Title:	Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood set to visit Desert Springs

We are delighted to announce that Merchant Taylors’ School, Northwood (MTS) will be visiting Desert Springs Resort between Sunday 10^th – Thursday 14^th July to complete a 5-day cricket tour to conclude their season, at the ICC accredited Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy.

As a major sport at MTS, the cricket club regularly field in excess of twenty (20) playing XI’s through-out the Summer Term, participation is coupled with performance with twenty-nine (29) players currently representing their county.  MTS was once again featured as one of the country’s top 100 senior schools in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2022 and has strong links with Middlesex CCC, hosting first class and T20 matches.  Fourteen (14) players and three (3) teaching staff will be involved in a mixture of high performance training, spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.  

MTS 1^st XI will compete in three (3) T20 and one (1) 50 over fixture against Halifax Junior Cricket League Representative XI on the ICC Accredited Match Ground during their stay at Desert Springs Resort.
