Ludgrove Preparatory School CC complete pre-season training camp

Ludgrove Preparatory School CC are now back in the UK having completed a four (4) day pre-season training camp comprising thirty-one (31) players and four (4) coaching staff at Desert Springs ICC accredited Cricket Ground & Academy between Tuesday 12th – Saturday 16th April.

 As part of their preparation, the team spent their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions covering technical skills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, took place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work was completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club.

 The training camp culminated with two internal T20 matches at the Desert Springs ICC accredited cricket ground.

Gabriel French, Master in Charge of Cricket for Ludgrove Preparatory School remarked;

“We have had an exceptional week of training, getting the boys ready for the season and it’s been really good.

We have a great idea of who we are going to use where, what sides we are going to put together and we have now discovered depth in places that we didn’t realise we had. We have had individuals that have really stood up who were brilliant in game situations, so that has allowed us to make selections that we would probably have had to make halfway through the season.”

Speaking of the cricket facilities at Desert Springs, Gabriel commented;

“Amazing wickets, great facilities and the nets have been top class.

The boys are now in such a good position to start the season, they are so prepared.”
