Brand new apartments and townhouses nearing completion in a traditional Spanish fishing village have been planned with first-time buyers of a place in the sun in mind.
Ready for occupation this summer will be 43 new homes at La Sirena, a development by the Almanzora Bay Group in Villaricos in the Almeria region of Spain.
“They are built to the same quality standards as the homes in the group’s earlier developments in the village, but without all the frills,” explains Bridget Rosser, sales and marketing manager of the Cheltenham-based Almanzora Group which is marketing the properties.
“This means that they are affordable and ideally suited to buyers with a limited budget who are keen to get a foot on the overseas property ladder.”
The developer has kept costs down in a number of ways. Compared with its other developments, the rooms are very slightly smaller and the ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms is lower. Although features like decorative ironwork and mouldings on the facades of buildings are more modest than those on the Almanzora Bay Group’s other developments in Villaricos, the properties retain the same attractive village style.
There are limited gardens and no pool at La Sirena, but the seafront is only a two minute walk from the development and the sandy Villaricos beach another three minutes away.
The development of these homes follows the success of earlier developments by the Spanish Almanzora Bay Group, which has already built more than 250 apartments and townhouses in several locations within the village. They include Harbour Lights, a waterfront development overlooking the Esperanza harbour.
The properties at La Sirena have constructed areas ranging in size from 57 sq m to 78 sq m, excluding their terraces which range from 11 sq m to 38 sq m. Each property includes an individual roof terrace and basement parking.
With ten of the new homes at La Sirena already sold off-pan, prices currently start at € 150,000 for a two-bedroom apartment rising to €245,000 for a three-bedroom apartment.
