Royal Logistics Corps CC set to visit Desert Springs for Pre-Season Warm Weather Cricket Training Camp

 

With the domestic cricket season drawing ever closer, the Royal Logistics Corps Cricket Club will be stepping up their preparations for the 2020 campaign by completing a four (4) day warm weather pre-season training camp at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground & Academy between Saturday 28th March – Wednesday 1st April.

In 2019, The Royal Logistics Cricket team were crowned double Corps champions winning both The Inter Corps T20 competition and The 50 over Power Cup, a feat not achieved by any Corp for over a decade.

The training camp will comprise sixteen (16) players and five (5) coaches, all of whom will be spending their time completing a specific and carefully planned programme of numerous training sessions each day covering technical skills, fielding drills, bowling and batting, strength and conditioning and both individual and group activity.

Grass net practice, both bowling and batting will take place at the Cricket Academy. Strength and conditioning work, running, speed and agility work will be completed at the Cricket Ground and Gym at the Sierras Sports Club and the Royal Logistics Corps CC shall compete in T20 Matches against both Sheffield Collegiate CC and Trent College CC on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st March.

The players and coaches will be accommodated in some of the privately-owned Apartments at Desert Springs and the resort’s executive chef will be on hand to cater for the special dietary requirements of individual players dining in both El Torrente and the Crocodile Club restaurant.
